Bistro Louis Severine

COUNTRY: France

REGION: Alsace

Bistro Louis Séverine is the project of Louis Broderick of Basket Range in Australia and Séverine Perru, former wine director of The Ten Bells in New York. The pair first made wine together during a harvest in the Jura and formalized the winery in 2019, producing small quantities each year. Drawn to Alsace and its grape varieties, they settled there in 2023, initially vinifying with the support of friends Christian Binner and Jean-Pierre Rietsch before continuing work in Yannick Meckert’s cellar.

They now farm organic and biodynamic parcels in Ammerschwihr and Katzenthal, including Grand Cru sites, and source additional organic fruit from granitic vineyards around Dambach-la-Ville. The wines are made without additives, with some cuvées bottled young and others held for longer élevage. The name “Bistro” reflects their aim to produce honest, drinkable wines meant for the table and shared company.
