Domaine Ledogar
COUNTRY: France
REGION: Ferrals les Corbieres
Domaine Ledogar, located in the Boutenac terroir near Carcassonne, has been a family-run estate for generations, with Xavier Ledogar taking the helm in 1997. Renaming the estate from Domaine Grand Lauze, Xavier initiated transformative changes, including ending the sale of grapes to the local cooperative in favor of crafting his own wines. In 2004, Xavier’s brother Mathieu joined him, and together they converted the 22-hectare estate to biodynamic principles, earning Ecocert organic certification by 2006. More recently, their brother Benoit has joined the team, adding to the family’s passion and expertise.
The Ledogars farm their vineyards with a commitment to sustainability and traditional practices, using horses for plowing and donkeys for weed control. They produce a range of wines, including standout AOC Corbières Boutenac cuvées and a remarkable Carignan Blanc. As members of the “Change the Aude County into Wine” association, they advocate for authentic, terroir-driven wines that reflect the unique character of the region. With their heartfelt dedication and innovative spirit, the Ledogar family has become one of the rising stars of the Corbières appellation.
