Maxime Troncy, a new addition to the ZRS portfolio, hails from a family with a long tradition of producing conventional wines in Beaujolais. In 2013, his father entrusted him with a 10-hectare plot to farm without chemical intervention, marking the beginning of Maxime’s journey into the natural wine scene. This significant initiative reflects his commitment to sustainable practices and organic viticulture. The vineyard, surrounded by an ancient clos, has vines ranging from 80 years old to less than a decade, embodying a rich history and promising future for Les Souriants.
Troncy first gained recognition by selling grapes to Julien Altaber. His cuvées remind us of the classic Beaujolais wines, fresh with clear expressions of fruit. His wines are made to be enojoyed and shared with fri, embodying his philosophy of making wines that bring joy and togetherness. In 2021, Troncy partnered with Damien Polosse, his brother-in-law, to manage the growing estate. Together, they manage 18 hectares, two-thirds of which are certified organic, with plans to convert the rest. Troncy’s dedication to his craft, alongside Damien's support, promises a future of exceptional, sustainably-produced wines that will be cherished for years to come.
